I was looking for the perfect activity to make our annual company party extra special and the Brighter Shade Studio art party was exactly that! Tobie brought a fantastic variety of paints, glitter, beads, gold leaf, just about anything we could want to play with! It was really lovely for us as a group to just sit and create together. And Tobie offered wonderful guidance and encouragement when we felt stuck. Everyone just loved it and we now have our masterpieces hanging together as a reminder of that time together.

Private Lessons
What medium do you wish to work with? Paint, draw, sculpt, beading, mixed media, collage, art journals, DIY projects.... We can help with that!
Artists aged 5-105 welcome! These lessons are tailored to the students and what it is that they want to learn or work on. In a Private Lesson, the instructor focuses on challenging an artist's existing skills and taking them to a more advanced level, while introducing them to new techniques, materials and styles in fine art.

I like to think of art as a place of freedom. With so many rules and confines in life, I have found that it is very important to have a safe place to explore unbounded. As a creative explorer, I am drawn to symbolism and symbolic meaning of things, words or writings that ring deeply true or profound in some way, bright colors, textures, and all things curious. How do they possibly fit together?
Drawing upon knowledge gained from formal education, life lessons, the gift of inspirational people and a lifelong practice of the arts, I exercise and indulge in this pursuit of freedom and creative exploration.
